We do have an option of disk imaging for retrieving files from disk media that may be failing, without stressing the original disk media that may result in even worse failure.
While recovering the files in QuickScan mode, it shows the proper file names so that you can identify the files, whereas, in the deep-scan mode, the software displays only generic filenames with an option to preview them. It supports recovering data from different types of storage devices like SD cards, smartphones, USB drives, hard disks etc. A dedicated Deep Scan option is present too which is recommended to be used when the file system on the target drive is damaged. Using the software is pretty easy, you just have to select the file types you want to recover or just leave it on All Files option and then select the drive location from which the file is intended to be undeleted from. Once again thank you for the advice on this matter.This software allows the recovery of all types of files including Office Documents, Photo, Video, Emails & more even from Inaccessible Hard Drive Partitions, portable HDD, USB Sticks, Memory Cards, CD-DVD & Other Storage Devices. Just in case anyone is experiencing the same. I disabled automount and auto scrub in CMD as the drive was continuously running and freezing my computer. In total you really need 3 hard drives but can get by with two if you don't care too much over the data and don't mind risking using the damaged drive to read from. I found the process a bit tedious but necessary and I can now see why Data Recovery Specialists charge an arm and a leg and a ritual sacrifice to get most of your data. I know you can try to recover it but for what I was trying to get, not all the data was necessary however this is based on a case, by case basis so do with this info what you will.
I will also say that it took me 3 hours to recover the data because if a file isn't recoverable you need to skip it by manually pressing it. I don't know why people say the interface is intimidating, I found it simple to use just as it's laid out. With that said, I will be recommending and if I need to in the future purchasing DMDE as it works. Now I wan't to say that it was more than 4k files that I recovered but I'm not gonna count, so maybe that's why it never stopped me from completing the recovery. I was ready to purchase the program but the prompt never popped up to do so as it allowed me to recover all of my data unlimited. With that said I was able to recover about 95% of my pictures, docs, videos. I didn't clone it, I know, I know, I do have a Wavlink Docking station but didn't have a spare HDD to clone to and figured if the data was gone, it was gone. DMDE helped recover all of my files in the RAW drive.
